Santa Gift Card Holders

I made several gift card holders this Christmas.  Many were given
as part of a gift.  I made approximately thirty in seven different
patterned papers here. These two were made using the colors at
Dynamic Duos, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and glitter paper.
I am also entering them at Simon Says Stamp! Wednesday Challenge
for their "Bling It On Challenge." The idea for came these from here.  I
used the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board, cherry cobbler
and basic black cardstock along with silver and gold glitter paper.

The gift cards were included in the gift wrapping supplies, with the saying
"Here's a little something to help you get all wrapped up in the spirit of the season."
I got the idea on Pinterest.  This gift was very well received.  I will definitely be
doing this one again.  I watched for sales on everything ~ the scissors, tape, gift
bags, tags, and candle.  I made the hot chocolate mix using this recipe.  It is
very rich and creamy, and has nothing partially hydrogenated.

Baby's First Christmas

Every year I make first Christmas ornaments for the
babies in the NICU I work at.  The patterned papers
I used were older ones from my stash.  The words were
computer generated.  The rosette is from Tim Holtz ~
the Mini Paper Rosettes, and the back of the ornament
is a 3" scallop circle punch from EK Success.

I will be at work all day on Christmas with the babies.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!

Reindeer Food

Every year I make reindeer food for the babies in the NICU
I work at to give their siblings.  There are many slightly
different poems to go along with the reindeer food.  It is
a tented package with the poem on the back.
Even though there is only a little bling on their noses,
I am going to link up Simon Says Stamp! Wednesday Challenge
for their "Bling It on Challenge."

Here are two of the versions of the Reindeer Food Poem.
Feel free to copy either if you would like to use them.

Be sure to take this magic food and sprinkle on the lawn,
On Christmas Eve, Santa's reindeer travel miles before the dawn.
The smell of oats and glitter path will guide them on their way,
And you'll wake up to Santa's gifts on Christmas Day!

Just a sprinkle on the lawn at night,
and the moon will make it sparkle bright.
As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam,
this treat will guide them to your home.

Snowflakes, Snowflakes, Snowflakes

I've been busy getting ready for the holidays ~ only one
post last week ;(.  Sometimes procrastination pays off apparently,
since now there are five challenges for snow and snowflakes at
I have been making gift card holders, mostly featuring
snowflakes.  All of the paper used has been from my stash,
a few are older Stampin' Up papers.  I used the We R Memory
Keepers Envelope Punch Board (which I believe is almost
identical to Stampin' Up's).  The snowflake is the smallest one
in PTI's Fancy Flake Die Collection;  buttons are also from PTI.
I have made over thirty, mostly to give as gifts at school.  There
are a lot of ideas on Pinterest for giving wrapping paper and tape
for a neighbor or teacher gift with a cute saying with it ~
"Hope you're getting all wrapped up in the spirit of the season!"
I am doing this, and adding tags and gift card holders as well.
Its fun and practical.

These are the seven different papers I have used.  Snowflakes are
perfect for this.  Since to get a regular design straight on the board,
you have to cut your paper on the diagonal and waste a fair amount
of paper.

This week the challenge is…

Fight Like a Girl

I am so happy to be making cards today.  I was so busy
getting ready for Thanksgiving that I hardly had any time
for cards.  Thankfully I do not need this one now, but its
usually difficult for me to come up with one for a breast
cancer diagnosis as soon as I need one.  With any luck for
those I know and love, this card will gather some dust ;).
I used the sketch at Seize the Sketch and the "ribbon"
theme at CASology this week.  I am also entering this
anything goes this week.  I used a breast cancer
awareness ribbon.
